Former Mayoral Candidate Sues City Where He Lost Election

Gary Bellis, the man narrowly defeated last May in a race for Mayor of East Mountain has filed a lawsuit against the city in Upshur County because Betty Davis is the city’s police chief and city administrator, and he says that is in violation of the state constitution. The suit claims that Davis has sole responsibility for all personnel matters in the city. Numerous allegations are also contained in the suit.
