Former North Texas Officer’s Murder Trial Underway

The murder trial for a former Balch Springs Police Officer, accused of killing a teenager, got underway Thursday. Roy Oliver, who is white, reportedly opened fire last year into a moving car filled with five black teens, killing 15-year-old high school freshman Jordan Edwards. Oliver said he fired at the car because he thought his partner was in danger.
