Former State Trooper Sentenced

A former state trooper accused of sexually abusing a child has been sentenced to ten years in prison. Louis Paul Weems, of Marshall, pleaded guilty to indecency with a child and was also fined $10,000. He must register as a sex offender. Weems was indicted in April by a Cass County grand jury for continuous sexual abuse of a child, indecency with a child by contact, and indecency with a child by exposure. Weems had served in Marshall and Marion County.
