The Capital Murder trial of 23 year old James Arthur Crawford III of Jefferson is continuing before District Judge Eddie Northcutt in Franklin County. Crawford is accused of killing 75 year old Kenneth Rex Raley at his home in Mt. Vernon in September of 2014. Prosecutors are NOT seeking the death penalty, and if convicted as charged, Crawford will automatically be sentenced to life without parole. The trial is expected to last at least until Thursday.
