Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Investigate Homicide

Franklin County Sheriff’s Office worked a homicide over the weekend. Friday, the American Inn Motel on I-30 called deputies and Animal Control after Timothy Franks, 49, of Mt Pleasant, missed his checkout time would not answer his phone, and his dog was barking. Sheriff Rickey Jones said officers found Mr. Franks dead. They obtained a description of the suspect and called Mt Pleasant CID to help. Mt Pleasant Police had arrested the suspect, Joshua Anthony Parker, 19, after a short standoff before they found Franks. Parker reportedly had stolen a vehicle before the murder from a residence in Morris County. Franklin County Sheriff Jones said Titus, Camp, Morris counties and Texas Rangers assisted them in the case.
