Friday Night Preview In Today’s Sports Update

Coming tonight in high school football on the radio, Mt Pleasant is back in action with a Homecoming game against Paris at 7:30 pm on KLAKE 97.7 and KBUS 101.9, Mt Vernon will host Winnsboro in a big clash at 7:30 pm on STAR Country 96.9. It’s also Homecoming at Sulphur Springs as they host Royse City at 7:30 pm on STAR Country 95.5. Also tonight, Pittsburg is at Van, Waskom visits Paul Pewitt, Daingerfield is at DeKalb, Tatum will travel to Hughes Springs, Gilmer travels to Carthage, North Lamar is at Jefferson on MIX 107.7 and Rivercrest is at Prairiland.

Other games are Hillcrest is at Bonham, Chisum travels to Clarksville, Cooper vs. Hooks, Detroit vs. Leonard and Kemp heads to Commerce.

There are lots of big college football games on Saturday. No. 11 Michigan will be at No. 13 Wisconsin, No. 8 Auburn at No. 17 Texas A&M and No. 7 Notre Dame at No. 3 Georgia.

On Thursday night NFL football, the Jaguars beat the Titans 20-7.

The Dallas Cowboys will host the Miami Dolphins at noon Sunday. By the way, Josh Rosen will start at QB for the Dolphins, and they have claimed Taco Charlton off waivers. The Houston Texans will travel to San Diego at 3:25 pm.

Ronald Acuna, Jr., of the Atlanta Braves, has become only the third player in baseball history to hit 40 homers while 21 years old or younger. The other two were Eddie Mathews and Mel Ott, who are both in the Hall of Fame. Acuna launched a two-run shot Thursday in the third inning, a towering 432-foot drive into the second level at SunTrust Park off Philadelphia’s Aaron Nola.

The Texas Rangers are back in action tonight as they start a weekend series with Oakland. First pitch is at 9:07 pm.
