HIGH SCHOOL

High school football scrimmages for 2024 started Thursday. Matching Xs and Os last night were Maud at Hughes Springs, Paris at Pittsburg, Hawkins at Queen City, and Mt Pleasant at Pleasant Grove. Mt Vernon’s team canceled. Tonight, Atlanta will be at Daingerfield.

LITTLE LEAGUE
The Boerne Little League team is heading to the United States Championship game at the Little League Baseball World Series.
The Boerne (BUR-knee) team represents the Southwest Region. On Wednesday afternoon, they defeated Nevada 5-2.
