The University of Texas investigation into the bottle-throwing incident at the Texas-Georgia game in October drew a harsh rebuke and fine from the SEC. No one was caught or punished. In a report to the conference sent last month, Texas officials said a video review did not identify any of the culprits. The two teams meet again on Saturday.

Entering the second half trailing by 14, the East Texas A&M University men’s basketball team stormed back to make it a two-point game in the final minute on Thursday night. Still, it fell 83-79 to the HCU Huskies in Sharp Gym in the Southland Conference opener for both teams. The Lions head to UIW on Saturday at 11:00 am to close out the first weekend of conference play.

This week, the East Texas A&M University football team signed three incoming first-year students during the early signing period for the class of 2025. The Lions welcome Cade Pointer, a defensive lineman from Waxahachie, Sh’Rhod Revis, a defensive back from Richmond, and Jai Trawick (Jeye TRAH-wick), a defensive back from DeSoto.
