Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson joined the Dallas Mavericks’ lengthy injured list for their home game Thursday night against the Miami Heat, meaning none of the players who started during the defending Western Conference champions’ season opener were on the court. They listed Irving out because of a shoulder injury and Thompson with a foot sprain following Wednesday night’s 110-104 home win over the Golden State Warriors.

Coming into the game riding a two-game winning streak, the East Texas A&M University women’s basketball team suffered a 71-55 loss to the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks on Thursday night at the Hunt Regional Healthcare Court in the Field House. The Lions host Lamar on Saturday at Noon. During halftime, the East Texas A&M Robotics team and the REC Foundation will collaborate to host a robot battle.

HIGH SCHOOL

The Texas Sports Writers Association released its All-State teams, recognizing the best players in each classification. The Regional Semifinalist Sulphur Springs Wildcat team featured five players recognized for their effort last fall, and four return next season. They are Jason Haire, Vicent Johnson, Kaden Mitchell, Truth Holmes, and Grayson Hardy.

They have changed the Harts Bluff vs. Boles game schedule in Paris to Monday, 6:30 pm.
