Fort Worth Police Officer Shoots Woman To Death Inside Her Home

A white Fort Worth Police Officer fatally shot a 28-year-old black woman when he responded to a call early Saturday for a welfare check at a home. He fired a shot into a bedroom window, striking and killing the woman, who lived in the home with her eight-year-old nephew. At a press conference, a police spokesman said the officer never identified himself as a police officer. The neighbor who made the call requesting the welfare check said he called the non-emergency number because he observed that the door was open.
