Full Slate of HS Football Tomorrow Plus Rangers Drop Angels Finale

Paris – High school football kicks off with week 5 tomorrow night. It’s homecoming for the North Lamar Panthers as they host the Canton Eagles at RL Maddox Stadium. The game can be heard live on MIX 107.7 The Paris Wildcats play on 101.9 KBUS when they travel to face 2nd ranked Argyle. And for our KOYN Game of the Week the Prairiland Patriots and Cooper Bulldogs kick off district play at Patriot Stadium. All games are set for 7:30.

Mount Pleasant – Area high school football picks back up Friday night. The Morris County Rivalry is reborn when the Daingerfield Tigers host the Paul Pewitt Brahmas to kick off district play. The Mt. Pleasant Tigers begin district 16-5A on KLAKE 97.7 against the Hallsville Bobcats. And on the Star Country Game of the Week the Mt. Vernon Tigers square off with the Grand Saline Indians. Games kick off at 7:30 Friday. The Pittsburg Pirates hit the road to take on Tatum and Gilmer looks to bounce back against Nacogdoches.

Sulphur Springs – Area high school football picks back up Friday night. The Sulphur Springs Wildcats kick off district 16-5A play on Star Country 95.9 when they travel to Longview to take on the Pine Tree Pirates. Cumby looks to remain undefeated when they visit Honey Grove. The Mt. Vernon Tigers begin district play against Grand Saline. Cooper is in a rivalry game against Prairiland and the Commerce Tigers hit the road for Farmersville. Rains will host Redwater and Greenville is at home against Hallsville.

The Texas Rangers magic number remains at 2 after last night’s 5-4 loss to the LA Angels. Houston won earlier in the day. The Ranger bullpen was solid, giving up no runs on two hits in four innings of work. Carlos Beltran smashed his 28th homer of the season [AUDIO]. The Rangers have the day off today before playing their final road series of the season tomorrow in Oakland.

The Dallas Cowboys look for their second straight win when they host the 0-2 Bears at AT&T Stadium Sunday night [on 101.9 KBUS]. The Cowboys have had a healthy first two weeks of the season, while Chicago is banged up with eight players missing practice yesterday, including quarterback Jay Cutler, who injured his right thumb against Philadelphia. The Cowboys and Bears kickoff at 7:30 Sunday night.
