Gilmer Store Owner Shoots Burglary Suspects

Two men who were caught allegedly burglarizing a tobacco store in Gilmer were shot by the store owner. When officers arrived on the scene, they were told by the owner that he fired at the suspects when he found them in the store. Officers were later called to a Longview hospital, where one man was being treated for gunshot wounds to the buttocks and the other for wounds to the chest. Their condition was not disclosed, and the incident remains under investigation.
