After a horrid January, the Dallas Stars are playing their best hockey of the season in February. Winners of six out of their last seven, the Stars beat western conference leader Chicago on Thursday, then over the weekend beat the NHL’s points leader Washington 4-3 on Saturday. The Stars are now tied for the west lead with 77 points on the season and will take on Nashville tonight on the road at 7pm.

In the NBA Warriors Guard Klay Thompson wins the 3 point contest over teammate Steph Curry. The West defeats the East 196-173 in the All-Star break, but it was Zach Lavine and Aaron Gordon who highlighted the weekend with the most stellar slam dunk contest since Jordan and Wilkins battled it out in ’88. LaVine clinched the title by going between the legs after jumping from the free throw line.

And counting down to Daytona this coming Sunday, for 23 sprint cup seasons we saw Jeff Gordon circle the tracks inside the number 24. This season, with Gordon retired, it’ll be 20 year old Chase Elliott with the number on his car after becoming the youngest polesitter in Daytona history. Engines start at noon on Sunday for the Daytona 500.
