Good Shepherd Medical Center has received the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline® Heart Attack Receiving Center Accreditation.
The American Heart Association and the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care sponsor the accreditation program that recognizes centers that meet or exceed the quality of care measures for people experiencing the most severe type of heart attack. That includes ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) that completely blocks blood flow to a portion of the heart.
The celebration/presentation ceremony will allow those departments responsible for achieving the award to be honored and will feature the formal presentation of the accreditation certificate by Brandi Russell, American Heart Association corporate market director.
