LONGVIEW, TX (May 17, 2016) – Good Shepherd Medical Center’s first annual “Let’s Brunch” event culminated with the surprise recognition of Kim Holcomb as the first Good Shepherd Woman of the Year.
Kim Holcomb began volunteering with the Good Shepherd Auxiliary in May 1999. Since then, she has worked in the hospital gift shop where she currently serves as treasurer, and assists in responding to invoices and financial tasks.
She has worked with Gold Rush, the Good Shepherd Foundation’s largest annual fundraiser, nearly as long, serving for many years as the decorations chair, and chairing the event in 2005.
Her spouse is Good Shepherd Medical Associates General Surgeon Matt Holcomb, MD.
Kim was honored with a beautiful serving bowl, a floral arrangement and a standing ovation from the crowd.
“Kim is completely deserving of this award. Her heart for Longview and for Good Shepherd has been shown by her years of committed service. We are so grateful for what she means to our organization,” Paula Poole said.
“Let’s Brunch” was held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Longview on Thursday, May 5 and included a four-physician panel discussing key aspects of women’s health, a delicious brunch and door prizes/giveaways.
