Governor Expected To Sign Transgender Athlete Bill

Texas is poised to become the sixth state to tighten restrictions on transgender athletes in public high school sports. The legislature has approved a measure that requires transgender athletes to play on teams that align with the gender listed on their original birth certificate, not their current gender identity. They expect Gov. Abbott to sign it into law, possibly today. However, the law is sure to face legal challenges.
