Grants For Teacher Classroom Expenses

Teachers across Texas are getting grants to help them stock their classrooms. The Cotton Bowl Foundation and College Football Playoff Foundation donated three non-profits giving teachers up to $1,000 for supplies. Teachers say the grants take the pressure off them because many spend their own money if that means helping kids succeed. Non-profits say the assignments can also help attract younger teachers and more male teachers. The TEA says 43,000 teachers left the profession last year.
