Gregg County authorities say a female inmate awaiting trial on a murder charge died after suffering a medical emergency in her jail cell. Jailers and EMS attempted to save the woman and took her to a Longview hospital, where she was pronounced dead. She had been in jail for 1,122 days. Texas Rangers are investigating.
