Gregory Goes For Reinstatement Plus Rangers Hammered In LA

The World Cup is coming back to North America. The FIFA Congress has awarded the 2026 games to the US/Canada/Mexico bid. This year’s World Cup gets underway Thursday in Russia.

Former Dallas Cowboy Greg Hardy is leaving his first professional MMA fight with a UFC contract. Hardy had an impressive TKO that only took 57 seconds. UFC president Dana White announced the decision after the victory.

Suspended Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory met with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Tuesday. This is just the next step in his bid for reinstatement. Gregory was the Cowboys’ second-round pick in 2015 and he has not played since the final regular season game in 2016 due to Repeated violations of the league’s substance abuse policy. On Tuesday, his team pleaded their case at NFL headquarters in New York.

The Dodgers hammered Texas 12-5 in Los Angeles. LA scored 7 runs in the 4th to chase Bartolo Colon. The final game of the two-game series is tonight on 1490 AM and 96.3 FM KPLT. Pregame at 8:30 – first pitch at 9:10.

The Los Angeles Rams were ordered to pay former NFL running back Reggie Bush $12.45 million in damages on Tuesday for a knee injury he suffered in St. Louis in 2015, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. Bush, then playing for the San Francisco 49ers, ran out of bounds on a punt return in a game at the Edward Jones Dome on Nov. 1, 2015, and slipped on some concrete. He suffered a torn lateral meniscus, which ended his season.

The Oakland Raiders won’t be sending a 2019 draft pick to the New York Jets for Christian Hackenberg after all. Oakland released Hackenberg from its 90-man roster Tuesday, three weeks after acquiring the backup quarterback from the Jets for a conditional seventh-round choice in 2019. Traded players typically must remain on their new teams’ rosters for a period of games or past mandatory roster reduction dates for conditional choices to change hands.

The Baltimore Ravens don’t view a quarterback controversy between Joe Flacco and Lamar Jackson. The Ravens see it as an opportunity for quarterback creativity. Throughout the offseason, Baltimore has been putting Flacco and Jackson on the field at the same time. With Flacco playing quarterback, Jackson has lined up at multiple positions.

Colts quarterback Andrew Luck not only threw a football in front of the media Tuesday for the first time since he was shut down last October, he also said he will “absolutely” be playing the team’s Week 1 opener against the Cincinnati Bengals. “No knock on wood,” Luck said. “I’ll be playing. I believe it in my bones.”

The Toronto Raptors are hiring assistant Nick Nurse to become the franchise’s new head coach, league sources told ESPN. A nurse is finalizing contract terms with Toronto but met with president Masai Ujiri and general manager Bobby Webster on Tuesday morning to accept the job, sources said.

The University Interscholastic League Legislative Council met Tuesday to make decisions on proposed rule changes. The Council approved the strengthening of penalties for players ejected from a contest, modified scrimmage start dates for baseball and softball. The Council also changed fall practice regulations and spring training for football.
