A coalition of child advocacy groups has warned Governor Abbott they expect a sharp rise in child abuse due to the state’s stay at home order. In a letter to the Governor, all 50 groups that make up the child protection round table reminded the Governor that social isolation and heightened stress could easily trigger child abuse. Kerrie Judice, with Texprotects, suggests that child abuse reports may not be getting to child protective services. April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.
