Guest Speakers Give Students Valuable Insight at North Lamar

Community speakers play an important role in the lives of students when they share the duties associated with their professions. At North Lamar High School, guest speakers are often invited to talk to the AVID students about their careers and the education needed beyond high school. Through the AVID program, students are given a support system creating a desire to attend college and motivating them to do well in school. It also teaches study skills and strategies for success in a more rigorous curriculum.
