The Heat Advisory has been extended through Friday night at 7, but a significant weather pattern change is going to occur over the weekend as a cold front and upper level low combine to bring rain chances and cooler temperatures to the region. This will replace the persistent upper level high over the region now that has been responsible for the extended period of dry weather and triple digit heat. By Sunday temperatures will cool into the 80s and low 90s for highs, and will stay below August normals through next week. Rain chances will begin on Saturday and increase across the entire area Sunday and Monday with some heavy rainfall possible. Scattered rain showers and storms will continue through next week.
