Higgins Elementary Hosts Holiday STEAM Night

Higgins Elementary invites students and families to an evening of festive fun, creativity, and hands-on learning at the Holiday STEAM Night on December 16 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm in the Higgins Elementary Cafeteria. This interactive event, designed for children through 6th grade, will be a magical night filled with holiday spirit, STEM exploration, and cherished family moments.

With 15 interactive stations to explore, students can create several handmade holiday ornaments that parents will surely treasure for years. Each station will offer unique opportunities for students to engage in holiday-themed Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) activities, promoting critical thinking and creativity in a fun, festive environment.

Adding to the excitement, special guests Grinch and Santa will make appearances, providing perfect photo opportunities and spreading holiday cheer. We will serve hot cocoa and snacks to keep the holiday spirit warm and bright.

Students won’t be working alone—they’ll have support from North Lamar High School athletes, who will be on hand to help guide them through the activities. The event offers an excellent opportunity for younger students to connect with older role models.

“Our Holiday STEAM Night is all about bringing families together for a night of learning, laughter, and holiday joy,” said Melissa Allen, Director of Parents and Family Engagement. “It’s a chance for students to create something meaningful for their families while engaging in hands-on, minds-on activities that make learning memorable.”

This event is free and open to all families with students up to 6th grade. Bring your family, grab some cocoa, and experience the magic of learning through play.

La Escuela Primaria Higgins invita a los estudiantes y familias a una noche de diversión festiva, creatividad y aprendizaje práctico en la Noche Navideña STEAM el 16 de diciembre de 5:30 pm a 7:00 pm en la Cafetería de la Escuela Primaria Higgins. Este evento interactivo, diseñado para niños hasta 6º grado, será una noche mágica llena de espíritu navideño, exploración de STEM y momentos familiares apreciados.

Con 15 estaciones interactivas para explorar, los estudiantes pueden crear varios adornos navideños hechos a mano que los padres seguramente atesorarán durante años. Cada estación ofrecerá oportunidades únicas para que los estudiantes participen en actividades de Ciencia, Tecnología, Ingeniería, Arte y Matemáticas (STEAM) con temas navideños, promoviendo el pensamiento crítico y la creatividad en un ambiente divertido y festivo.

Además de la emoción, los invitados especiales Grinch y Santa Claus harán apariciones, brindando oportunidades perfectas para tomar fotos y difundir la alegría navideña. Serviremos chocolate caliente y bocadillos para mantener el espíritu navideño cálido y brillante.

Los estudiantes no trabajarán solos, sino que contarán con el apoyo de los atletas de North Lamar High School, quienes estarán disponibles para ayudarlos a guiarlos a través de las actividades. El evento ofrece una excelente oportunidad para que los estudiantes más jóvenes se conecten con modelos a seguir mayores.

“Nuestra Noche Navideña STEAM se trata de reunir a las familias para una noche de aprendizaje, risas y alegría navideña”, dijo Melissa Allen, Directora de Participación de Padres y Familias. “Es una oportunidad para que los estudiantes creen algo significativo para sus familias mientras participan en actividades prácticas y mentales que hacen que el aprendizaje sea memorable”.

Este evento es gratuito y está abierto a todas las familias con estudiantes hasta 6º grado. Traiga a su familia, tome un poco de cacao y experimente la magia de aprender a través del juego.
