High Court To Hear Hopkins County Death Penalty Appeal

The case of a man convicted in Hopkins County of capital murder and sentenced to death will be considered by the United States Supreme Court. Daniel Clate Acker was condemned for the murder of Marketta George in 2001. The case was prosecuted by Frank Long, who was District Attorney at the time. Acker was represented by Ted Beaty and William Howard McDowell.
