Paris – Tonight kicks off high school basketball regional tournaments across the state. Three Red River Valley teams will have a chance to qualify for the state tournament next weekend. The 5th ranked Paris Wildcats and North Lamar Panthers will be at The Field House at Texas A&M Commerce for the Class 4A Region 2 tournament. Paris will face 4th ranked Dallas Lincoln at 6pm. Pre game on 101.9 KBUS begins at 5:45. Doors for entry open at4:30. North Lamar will follow that game when they take on 9th ranked Triple A Academy. Pre-game on MIX 107.7 begins at approximately 7:45. Tip off is scheduled for 8. At McKinney North High School the 2nd ranked Clarksville Tigers play 5th ranked Muenster in the Class 2A Region 2 tournament. Tip off is at 6pm.
Mount Pleasant – Tonight kicks off high school basketball regional tournaments across the state. The Daingerfield Tigers head to Rockwall Heath high school for the class 3A-Region 2 tournament where they’ll face 6th ranked Waxahachie Life. You can hear tonight’s game on Star 96.9. Tip off is at 8pm. In the event in which Daingerfield pulls off the upset, they’ll take on the winner of 7th ranked Van Alstyne and number 19 Dallas Family Faith on Saturday at 2pm.
Tomorrow afternoon the NTCC Eagles baseball team will be on the road in Lamar County to take on the Paris Junior College Dragons. The doubleheader will begin at 1pm at Hub Hollis Field, game two will follow. The Lady Eagle softball team will also be traveling for a double header. They’ll face Navarro College in Corsicana. Game one begins at 1pm. Game two will follow.
Sulphur Springs – Tomorrow night kicks off high school basketball regional tournaments across the state. The 16th ranked Campbell Indians begin the Class A Region 3 tournament at Mansfield High School. They’ll face off against the 15th ranked Lingleville Cardinals. Tip off tomorrow evening is scheduled for6pm. With a win, Campbell would advance to face the winner of top ranked Lipan and 2nd ranked Avinger on Saturday at 2pm.
Last night in the NBA the Dallas Mavericks fall to Sacramento 104-101. Chandler Parson put up a 28 point, nine rebound performance, but the loss gives the Mavs a 33-29 overall record on the season, tied for 6th in the western conference.
Tonight, the Dallas Stars occupy the AAC when they host the New Jersey Devils. The Stars, who’ve lost seven of their last eight games, dropped their only previous meeting to New Jersey 3-2 on January 2nd. Puck drop tonight in Dallas is set for 7:30.
And the Texas Rangers beat the Kansas City Royals yesterday afternoon 10-0 to improve to 2-0 in the Cactus League. The Rangers are back on the Diamond today against the LA Dodgers. First pitch is set for 2:05pm central time.
