High School Football Plus Cowboys Rangers Win

 

Texas high school football officially returns on Monday. On August, 7, area teams strap on the helmets to start two-a-day practices. Players will practice in helmets, shirt, and shorts to start the week before going to full pads in the latter half of the week. The regular season starts with week 1 on August 31 and September 1.
High school volleyball teams will meet this weekend for scrimmages before starting the regular season next week.
The Dallas Cowboys took to the field for the annual Hall of Fame preseason game. The ‘Boys fell behind early but rallied to win, 20-18. Quarterback, Kellen Moore, and Cooper Rush, combined to throw for 269 yards, two touchdowns. Running back, Rod Smith, totaled 89 yards while tight end Rico Gathers hauled in three passes for 59 yards and a score. The Cowboys will stay in Canton, Ohio for Jerry Jones induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday.
Rangers slugger, Joey Gallo, powers Texas past the Minnesota Twins last night, 4-1. Gallo crushed his fourth home run in the last three games in the 4th inning. AJ Griffin threw six innings of one run baseball for Texas in his first outing since May 25. The Rangers remain back in the American League Wildcard standings. Texas and Minnesota play game two of four tonight [on KPLT 1490am]. First pitch is set for 7:10.
