High School Football Update Plus Rangers Get Extra Innings Win

The second and final weekend of football scrimmages begins tomorrow for area high schools.

Paris – Prairiland will welcome in the Detroit Eagles to Patriot Stadium. The Chisum Mustangs and Clarksville Tigers tune up at Paris High’s Wildcat Stadium. The North Lamar Panthers head to Daingerfield while the Paris Wildcats go to Denison. The Rivercrest Rebels visit Tom Bean. The Cooper Bulldogs go to Winnsboro, and tonight the Honey Grove Warriors make the trip to Cross Roads to scrimmage Snook.

Mount Pleasant – The Daingerfield Tigers are at home to host the North Lamar Panthers. The Mt Pleasant Tigers are back in Texarkana to visit the Pleasant Grove Hawks. The Pittsburg Pirates make their way to Palestine. The Rivercrest Rebels will be going to Tom Bean, and tonight the Mt Vernon Tigers will be on the road visiting Edgewood. Hughes Springs hosts Harmony while the Paul Pewitt Brahmas welcome in Redwater.

Sulphur Springs – The Sulphur Springs Wildcats travel to Texarkana for their lone tune up action against Liberty Eylau while the Greenville Tigers travel down to Athens. Tonight the Mt Vernon Tigers will be on the road visiting Edgewood. The Cumby Trojans go to Valley View. Como Pickton goes to Quitman. The Commerce Tigers make the trip to Anna, and on Saturday morning the Campbell Indians go to Savoy.

Last night the Texas Rangers win it in ten innings over the LA Angels, 7-5. Adrian Beltre added two more RBI with a pair of solo home runs, including a blast in the 4th. Rougned Odor drove in the go-ahead run in the 10th with a sac fly. Robinson Chirinos and Drew Robinson added the insurance. Texas now finds themselves two games back in the wildcard. The Rangers can take the four game set from the Angels tonight. First pitch [on KPLT 1490am] is set for 9:05.

The Dallas Cowboys play the dress rehearsal game on Saturday against the Oakland Raiders. Meaning a majority of starters are expected to play the first half, with some getting action into the 3rd quarter. One player who may be limited is running back, Zeke Elliott, who is expected to get only a handful of snaps early on. Kickoff on Saturday evening is set for 6:00 pm.
