High School Hoops Continue Tonight In Today’s Sports Update

Crosstown showdown is happening between Paris and North Lamar. The girls close out the regular season at North Lamar while the boys will play at Wildcat gym. Both Paris teams won the previous matchup.

Chisum plays Lone Oak with the boys home and girls away. Prairiland will meet up with Edgewood with the boys in Pattonville and the girls on the road.

Both Honey Grove teams play at Bland, and the Detroit Eagles are at Maud.

Paris High senior Hannah Gibbons has signed with The University of Dallas to play volleyball. Gibbons was the lone senior on this year’s squad.

North Lamar Panthers Trent Nickerson, Andy Kirk, and Cody Ausmus all signed with colleges as well. Nickerson will be going to Panola college, while Kirk and Ausmus will play at Eastfield in Mesquite.

Kelly Oubre Jr. scored a career-high 40 points, Stephen Curry had 28, and the Golden State Warriors went small in a runaway win, beating the Dallas Mavericks 147-116 on Thursday night.

Golden State took control late in the third quarter after a floater by Tim Hardaway Jr. pulled the Mavericks within 93-91 with 5:52 left in the period. The Warriors went on a 17-4 run. Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with 27 points. Kristaps Porzingis had 25, Hardaway added 19, and Jalen Brunson 18 off the bench.

Patrik Laine and Jack Roslovic scored for the first time since being traded to Columbus last month, and the Blue Jackets beat the Dallas Stars 4-3 on Thursday night to earn a split of the two-game series.
Jason Dickinson, Roope Hintz, and Jamie Benn all scored for Dallas in the loss.
