High School Hoops Tonight Plus Falcons-Patriots Battle Sunday Sunday

Paris – District play in high school hoops continues tonight in the Red River Valley. The 16th ranked Paris Wildcats look to extend their district winning streak to 29 straight games when they host the Pleasant Grove Hawks at Wildcat Gym. The game will be broadcast live on 101.9 KBUS. The North Lamar Panthers stay in the playoff hunt with a win over Atlanta at Panther Gym on MIX 107.7. The girls tip off at 6pm. The boys will follow. Chisum will host Winnsboro and the Prairiland Patriots are on the road at Como-Pickton.

Prior to the boys game, the Mt. Vernon Lady Tigers can wrap up the top spot in 13-3A, but at 8-2, the Chapel Hill Lady Devils follow close behind. The girls tip off at 6:30pm. The boys will follow.
The Mt. Pleasant Tigers look to stay perfect in district 16-5A when they travel to Texarkana to take on Texas High. The Lady Tigers, meanwhile, occupy Willie Williams Gym against the Texas High girls. Both games this evening tip off at 7:30.

Sulphur Springs – District play in high school hoops continues tonight for area teams. Title hopes are on the line as the 8-0 Chapel Hill Red Devils travel to take on the 8-1 Mt. Vernon Tigers. The Commerce Tigers look to stay perfect in 10-3A. They’ll host Whitewright this evening. And Saltillo travels to Cumby to take on Miller Grove. Tip off is at 7:30.

The Dallas Mavericks are back on the court tonight, looking to extend their win streak to a season high four games against the Portland Trailblazers. Tip off is at 9:30.

Mavs guard Wesley Matthews accepted an invite to participate in this years 3-point contest at the all-star break. Matthews is shooting over 38% on the season and will be joined by defending champion Klay Thompson, 2013 champion Kyrie Irving, Kemba Walker, Kyle Lowry, Eric Gordon, CJ McCollum and Nick Young.

The Dallas Stars drop a game to the Toronto Maple Leafs last night 4-3. The Stars remain at 52 points on the season.

And only three more days until Super Bowl 51 at NRG Stadium in Houston. The New England Patriots will be seeking their fifth super bowl victory since the 2001 season. The high powered Atlanta Falcons are playing in their 2nd Super Bowl, but are still searching for their first Lombardi Trophy in franchise history. Kickoff Sunday is at 5:30.
