High School Volleyball Plus HS Golf And Cross Country In Today’s Sports Update

In a matchup of top 15 teams, Emory Rains defeated the Prairiland Lady Patriots in three sets to hand the Lady Pats their first district loss of the season.

The Paris Lady Cats broke a three-game losing streak with an easy three-set win over Pittsburg last night at home. The North Lamar Pantherettes lost to Gilmer in five sets on the road last night.

Chisum got a three-set win over Grand Saline last night.

The Paris High boy’s golf team competed in the Mt. Pleasant Varsity golf tournament at Mt. Pleasant Golf Club on Monday and won 1st place with a team score of 325. Mason Napier was the low individual with a 1-over par 73. Tyler Harvey won 2nd with a 75, and Tate Lewis finished 3rd individual with 78. Adan Clement shot 99, and Matthew Scott carded a 103. Erickson Mathieu shot 112 in the JV division.

The North Lamar varsity girls cross country team claimed the District 15-4A Championship title after competing in Pittsburg on Monday. North Lamar led with 46 points, followed by Gilmer with 53 points, Pleasant Grove with 58 points, Pittsburg with 92 points, Paris with 98 points, and Liberty Eylau with 130 points.

North Lamar top scorers were Emeri Watson, 3rd overall, Catie Lenertz, 4th overall, Emma Fowler, 11th overall, Addison Exum, 13th overall, and Kaidynse Steed, 15th overall.

This Friday night on 101.9 KBUS, the Paris Wildcats will host Terrell. Pregame with Steven Johnston and Robert High is 7:00 pm.

On Mix 107.7, the North Lamar Panthers will be on the road to face the defending state champions. Pregame from Pleasant Grove begins at 7:00 pm.
