Thank you to everyone who attended the ribbon cutting for Gourmet Kitchen & Co.

The grand opening and ribbon cutting for Gourmet Kitchen & Co was so much fun and the refreshments were more like a banquet.  We sampled the delicious candies, jellies, pretzels, sandwiches and much more that Judy Heilman offers in her store. This store is a hometown market place for gourmet foods and kitchen gifts, including items like, preserves, jams, jellies, flavored coffees and teas.  They have marinating sauces, rubs, seasonings, soups and dips!  They can make up fabulous gourmet gift baskets for any occasion!  Famous brands they carry are: Sweet Shop USA, San Saba, Blue Cattle Truck Trading Co. and Robert Rothchild Farm.  For more information, please call 903-885-9700 or visit the shop at 213 Main Street!

Del Francis 74 years-old, will leave Sulphur Springs, TX at 12:00 noon, June 3, 2016, from the downtown plaza to start his bicycle ride to Washington, D. C. to honor his 74 shipmates who were lost in Vietnam.  The purpose of this ride is to have their names added to the Vietnam Memorial Wall.  June 3, 1969 at 3:00 a.m. the Frank E. Evans DD 754 was cut in half with the front half sinking within 2 minutes.  74 men died.  They had just left the “Gun Lien’ firing in support of ground troops in Viet Nam.    It was the second largest loss of life for the Navy in the Vietnam War.  Because they were 100 miles outside “the official Combat Zone” they are not listed on the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, DC.  Please come support Del Francis as he starts this journey to honor our fallen.
