Hopkins County Commissioners Approve U.S. Marshals Agreement

Hopkins County Commissioners have approved an agreement with the U.S. Marshals Service to house federal inmates in the county jail. The current contract is for 150. Sex offenders and white-collar criminals would be in Hopkins County’s jail. The county will receive $60 per inmate per day, and the contract calls for the county to hold up to 30 federal inmates at a time.
