A court sentenced one of the two men charged in the Love’s Truck Stop armed robbery in Sulphur Springs to 20 years in prison. Charles Orin Lee Nash, 18 years old, had gone inside the truckstop brandishing a gun and took 35 cartons of cigarettes. His co-defendant, Cass Sullivan, was the getaway driver. He received deferred adjudication probation.
A high-speed pursuit that began on I-30 and ended on Hwy 11 resulted in the arrest of 38-year-old Joshua Lamar Rigsby of Wylie. Officers arrested Rigsby for Evading Arrest with a Vehicle, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, and Felony Criminal Mischief with bonds totaling $120,000. Hopkins County Deputies worked a disturbance and found a man lying on the ground with apparent stab wounds to his stomach and chest area. One deputy performed first-aid while the others searched for the suspect. They located Roman Rubio-Montero and arrested him for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The bond is $100,000.
