Hopkins County Deputies responded to CR 1136 after a 31-year-old local man allegedly stabbed his former step-father and had barricaded himself inside the residence. The deputy tried unsuccessfully to make contact with Jeffrey Marcus Sackett. He later complied when more officers responded and they took him into custody for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon of a family or household member. Bond was set at $100,000 and he remains in the Hopkins County Jail.
