HS Basketball Playoffs Tonight in Tuesday’s Local Sports

Paris – High school playoff basketball returns tonight with the boys regional quarterfinal round and a trip to the regional tournament on the line.  At Wagstaff Gym in Tyler, Texas the 5th ranked Paris Wildcats take on district foe Liberty Eylau. The game can be heard live on 101.9 KBUS. Pre-game is at 6:45. Tip off is at 7pm. The North Lamar Panthers take on a district rival as well. They’ll meet Pleasant Grove at Mt. Pleasant high school. Pre-game on MIX 107.7 begins at 6:45 as well, with a 7 o’clock tip off.  The 2nd ranked Clarksville Tigers are back at Sulphur Springs high school, where they won the area round. This time they face Big Sandy out of Tyler.  Tip off tonight is set for 7:30.  Prior to the Clarksville Tigers game the Roxton Lions play 16th ranked Campbell at Sulphur Springs.  The Lions tip off at 6.

Mount Pleasant –  High school playoff basketball returns tonight with the boys regional quarterfinal round and a trip to the regional tournament on the line.  Tonight the 25th ranked Daingerfield Tigers face Alba-Golden.  Daingerfield beat Whitewright in the area round, while Alba Golden defeated DeKalb.  Tonight’s game can be heard live on Star 96.9. Tip off from Rivercrest high school is set for 7pm. The Mt. Vernon Tigers will take on 7th ranked Van Alstyne at Royse City high school.  Mt. Vernon defeated Tom Bean this past Thursday, while Van Alstyne beat Prairiland. Tip off this evening is at 7pm.  Meanwhile, Mt. Pleasant High School will host the North Lamar Panthers and Pleasant Grove Hawks. Tip off is at 7pm.

Sulphur Springs – High school playoff basketball returns tonight with the boys regional quarterfinal round and a trip to the regional tournament on the line.  Tonight the Alba-Golden Panthers take on the 25th ranked Daingerfield Tigers.  Daingerfield beat Whitewright in the area round, while Alba Golden defeated DeKalb.  Tonight’s game can be heard live on Star 96.9. Last night in the NHL the Dallas Stars fall to the Detroit Redwings 3-2 in overtime.  Despite the loss the Stars maintain their position in 2nd place in the western conference.  Next up, the Stars hit the road to face the Nashville Predators tonight.  Puck drop is at 7pm.

In the NBA, the Dallas Mavericks host the Orlando Magic at the AAC.  The Mavs come in to tonight’s game with a 32-28 record on the season and are in 6th place in the Western Conference.  Tip off tonight is at 7:30.

And Texas Rangers pitcher Yu Darvish threw off a mound for the first time yesterday since March 5th of last year when he experienced tightness in his right arm and elected to have Tommy John Surgery.
