Paris – Week 4 of high school football kicks off Friday night. It’s homecoming for the Paris Wildcats as they host Pittsburg on 101.9 KBUS. The North Lamar Panthers travel to Pottsboro and be heard live on MIX 107.7. And for our KOYN Game of the Week, the Cooper Bulldogs look to get on track against a high powered Rivercrest Rebel team. Cumby looks to stay unbeaten at home against Trenton. Mt. Vernon hosts Ore City. Cooper welcomes Rivercrest to Bulldog Stadium. Emory Rains is at home against Spring Hill. Como-Pickton hits the road to take on Overton. Winnsboro will be in Gladewater to face Sabine and the Commerce Tigers host Bullard. All games kick off at 7:30.
Last night the Texas Rangers fall to the Houston Astros 8-4, but take two out of three in the series. Nomar Mazara went deep for Texas. The Rangers are 87-60 on the season and remain … games up in the AL West over Seattle. The Rangers have the day off today before beginning a three game set at home against Oakland tomorrow.
Sunday afternoon the Dallas Cowboys take on the Washington Redskins in week of the NFL season. Both teams are 0-1 after losing this past week. The Cowboys are led by rookies, quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Zeke Elliott. Washington is looking for a bounce back game from signal caller Kirk Cousins. There will be 94 players and coaches on the ballot for the pro football Hall of Fame. Yesterday, first time eligible players were named, headlined by running back Ladanian Tomlinson, wide receiver Hines Ward, safety Bryan Dawkins and defensive end Jason Taylor. Also first time eligible includes Donovan McNabb, Chad Johnson, Olin Kruetz, Joey Porter, Derrick Mason, and Bob Sanders.
