Friday night, they suspended the New Diana vs. Sabine football game early after an ambulance had to take an injured player to a hospital. A hit toward the end of the third quarter injured Sabine’s quarterback, Colt Sparks. The PA announcer said the officials would call the game and asked everyone to stay seated until the ambulance had left the field. When the injury occurred, New Diana led the game 32-0. Spark’s mother said tests came back clear. Sparks had announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, in April that he had committed to play for Texas Tech.
