HS Football Results Plus Packers Stun Cowboys Again

Another week of Texas High School Football is in the books.
Paris – The Chisum Mustangs win in shutout fashion over rival Prairiland, 24-0. The Mustangs improve to 2-0 in district play. The Rivercrest Rebels remain unbeaten after another dominating performance against Detroit, 59-20. The Rebels improve to 5-0 on the season. Meanwhile, the Clarksville Tigers fall to Lindsay, 55-8.
Mount Pleasant – The Daingerfield Tigers dominate the Morris County rivalry over the Paul Pewitt Brahmas, 56-6. The Blue Tigers improve to 2-3 on the season. Pewitt drops to 3-3. The Mt Vernon Tigers improves to 6-0 after a big win over Commerce, 47-14. Rivercrest remains unbeaten at 5-0 after throttling Detroit, 59-20 and the Mt Pleasant Tigers drop their second district contest, 31-21 to Pine Tree.
Sulphur Springs – The Mt Vernon Tigers stay unbeaten following a 47-14 beat down over Commerce. The Purple Tigers improve to 6-0 on the season. The Greenville Lions win big over Hallsville, 38-10 in their district opener, while Cumby gets on track with a big win over James Bowie, 52-21. The Cumby Trojans begin district play next week on the road against Maud.

Heartbreak once again as the Dallas Cowboys lose in the final seconds to Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, 35-31. The offense got the job done with quarterback Dak Prescott throwing three touchdowns with one going to Dez Bryant. Running back, Zeke Elliott, totaled over 130 yards, but the defense couldn’t match those efforts, despite coming up with four sacks. Dallas drops to 2-3 on the season and will be off this week.
In the Major League Baseball post-season, the Boston Red Sox fight back with a 10-3 win over the Houston Astros. Despite the win, the ‘Stros lead the American League Division Series two games to one. The New York Yankees win a pitchers duel over Cleveland 1-0, but the Indians lead the series 2-1. The ALDS continues tonight while the NLDS picks back up as well with the Cubs and Nationals tied at one game apiece followed by the Dodgers and Diamondbacks, with L-A holding a 2-0 lead.
And the Dallas Stars are still searching for their first win of the NHL season after falling to St. Louis Saturday night, 4-2. The Stars are back on the ice tomorrow night against Detroit at the American Airline Center.
