HS Football Week 3 Wrap-Up Plus Cowboys Lose Opener In Today’s Sports

A couple of overtime games in the Red River Valley Friday night. Sports brought to you by RENO TIRE AND SERVICE CENTER.

Rivercrest fell to Harleton 33–26 in overtime as Will Grider finished with 221 yards passing and three touchdowns. He also ran for 59 yards and a score. Christopher Randolph finished with 133 receiving yards and a touchdown.

In Honey Grove, the Warriors defeated Chisum 36–28 in overtime. Zaquavious Price finished with 238 yards on the ground and two scores while Anthanie Whitman finished with 154 rushing yards and two touchdowns for Honey Grove.

On 101.9 KBUS, the number two ranked Pleasant Grove Hawks defeated Paris 35–7, and on MIX 107.7, the Wolfe City Wolves handed Prairiland its first loss of the season with a 45–14 score. Clarksville fell to Tom Bean 18–12, and in 6-man action, Fannindel defeated Leverettes Chapel 33–12.

Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown and caught another scoring pass, but it wasn’t enough as Dallas drops the season opener 20–17 in LA against the Rams. Dak Prescott passed for 266 yards and a touchdown, but Dallas managed three points on its six drives in the second half.

The Cowboys began a season by losing three starters to injury in the first half and starting linebacker Leighton Vander Esch to a collarbone injury in the first quarter. Right tackle Cam Erving and tight end Blake Jarwin didn’t return from knee injuries in the second quarter.

The Dallas Stars will try to close out the Vegas Golden Knights in the Western Conference finals tonight. Dallas took a 3–1 lead in the series on Saturday after a 2–1 win. Joe Pavelski and Jamie Benn both scored goals while Anton Khudobin stopped 32 shots. Puck drop tonight is at 7.
