HS Soccer Baseball and Softball Plus Stars Win Again

Paris – Tonight the Paris Lady Cat soccer team will take on the Athens Lady Hornets in the regional semi final round of the class 4A high school soccer playoffs.  The match is set to be played at Tyler’s Rose Stadium with start time scheduled for 6:30.
District high school baseball and softball pick back up this evening for area teams.  The North Lamar Panthers and Pantherette’s will host the Pittsburg Pirates and Lady Pirates.  Tonight’s softball game can be heard live on MIX 107.7. Pre game is at 5:45, first pitch is at 6pm. North Lamar Panther baseball has been moved to 6:30 this evening and will be carried on KOYN 93.9.  The Paris Wildcats are on the road against Atlanta with game times scheduled for 6.  And in a rivalry match up the Prairiland Patriots and Lady Patriots visit Chisum to face the Mustangs and Lady Mustangs.  Softball begins at 6pm. Baseball starts at 6:30.
MP –  District action in high school baseball and softball picks back up tonight.  The Chapel Hill Red Devils and Lady Devils will be on the field this evening in Morris county against Paul Pewitt.  The Mt. Pleasant Tigers look to get back into playoff contention while the Lady Tigers try to keep pace for a district title. They’ll take on Greenville.  The Tigers are 3-4 in district 15-5A and will be on the road with a 7:30 start time while Mt. Pleasant softball at 7-2 will host the Lady Lions at 6pm.  The Pittsburg Pirates and Lady Pirates will be on the road to face North Lamar, beginning with softball at 6pm.  Varsity baseball is scheduled for 7:30. The Mt. Vernon Lady Tiger softball team will travel to take on Linden Kildare.  First pitch tomorrow is at 5:30.
SS –  District baseball and softball pick back up tonight for area teams.  The Sulphur Springs Wildcats and Lady Cats will take on Texas High.  Lady Cat softball is currently 6-3 in district 15-5A and are in 3rd place. Game time tonight in Texarkana is scheduled for 6pm.  The Sulphur Springs baseball team is 2-5 and looking to get back into playoff contention when they host the Tigers.  First pitch is scheduled for 7.  The Winnsboro Red Raiders and Lady Raiders will be on the road this evening at Winona with both games beginning at 6pm.  And the Mt. Vernon Lady Tiger softball team will travel to take on Linden Kildare.  First pitch is at 5:30.
And in college softball the Texas A&M Commerce Lady Lions will travel to Wichita Falls to play a double header against Midwestern State.  Game times are 5 and 7.
Last night in Major League Baseball the Texas Rangers drop their series opening 4-3 to the LA Angels.  First baseman Albert Pujols drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 9th to walk it off for Los Angeles.  The two clubs are back on the diamond tonight.  AJ Griffin makes his Texas Rangers debut.  First pitch this evening is scheduled 9:05pm Central time.
The Dallas Stars stay hot after last night’s 4-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche.  It was Jordie Benn, rather than the usual points man Jamie, who found the back of the net. The Stars have 107 points on the season and are tied with St. Louis for the Western Conference lead with one game apiece left to play in the regular season.  The Blues play Washington, while Dallas takes on Nashville tomorrow night at 7pm.
And after round one of the Masters, Dallas native Jordan Spieth finishes at the top of the leader board, shooting six under.  Danny Lee and Shawn Lowry begin the day two back of the leader at four under par.
