HS Soccer Results Plus Mavs Get Must Win Victory

Paris – The area round of high school soccer playoffs begin tomorrow night.  The Paris Wildcats and Lady Cats will both be in Kaufman with the girls playing Farris at 5:30. The boys will follow against Kaufman at 7:30.  North Lamar boys play Crandall at Ford Stadium in Longview at 8pm.  The Pantherette’s play Kaufman at 6.
The North Lamar baseball and softball will be live on MIX 107.7 when they host Pleasant Grove.  Pre-game on MIX for North Lamar baseball begins at 7:20. The Pantherette’s will play Saturday at 2pm. Pre-game starts at 1:50.  The Paris Wildcats are 1-1 in district play and will visit the Pittsburg Pirates tomorrow.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:30.
MP – Area baseball and softball teams return to action tomorrow night.  The Mt. Pleasant Tigers look to stay on track to the post season when they visit the Marshall Mavericks.  Both teams are 3-2 in district 15-5A, tied for 2nd place.  First pitch is scheduled for 7pm.  The Lady Tiger softball team will be at home against the Lady Mavs.  The Mt. Pleasant softball team is 6-1 on the season for soul possession of 2nd place.  Game time tomorrow is 6pm.  The Chapel Hill Red Devils and Lady Devils will be on the road against Queen City.  Softball starts at 5:30. Baseball follows at 7
SS – The area round of the girls high school soccer playoffs begin tomorrow night.  The Sulphur Springs Lady Cats will be at Terrell Memorial Stadium against Waxahachie.  Start time is at 8pm.
In high school baseball and softball the Wildcats will be on the road against the Longview Lobos tomorrow.  At 2-3 the Wildcats are one game out of playoff position. First pitch is at 7pm.  While the Sulphur Springs Lady Cat softball team hosts Longview at 6pm. With a 4-3 record the Lady Cats are tied for 3rd in district play with Pine Tree.  And the Mt. Vernon Tigers and Lady Tigers will be on the road against Hughes Springs starting with softball at 5:30. Baseball begins at 7.
Last night in the NBA The Dallas Mavericks beat the New York Knicks 91-89 at the American Airline Center.  JJ Barea led the way with 26 points and 7 assists.  With their victory the Mavs improve to 37-38 and in a three way tie for the 7th seed in the west with Utah and Houston.  Up next, Dallas will be in Detroit to take on the Pistons tomorrow night.  Tip off is at 6:30.
The Golden State Warriors picked up another win last night as well, 103-96 over Utah.  The Warriors continue their pace for NBA immortality with a season record of 68-7.
In the NHL the Dallas Stars host the Arizona Coyote’s at the AAC.  The Stars currently lead the western conference along with the St. Louis Blues, with both teams having 101 points on the season.  Puck drop tonight between Dallas and Arizona is set for 7:30.
And in Major League Baseball, Cole Hamels was sharp in his final tune up game before opening day as the Rangers beat the Royals 5-1.  Hamels worked five innings of two hit baseball giving up one run.  The Rangers return to the Diamond tomorrow against Cleveland at 7:05.
