Hugo Home Heavily Damaged in Fire

A home in the 800 block of West Jackson in Hugo was heavily damaged by fire Thursday morning. When firefighters arrived on the scene at about 10am the 2nd floor of the home was engulfed in flames. The fire was brought under control by firefighters from Hugo and the Speer and Sawyer volunteer departments after about an hour. No one was at home at the time of the blaze and there were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
