Hugo Man Arrested for Kidnapping

A Choctaw County man has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a woman and locking her in a hotel room. Hugo Police was called to the Holiday Hotel on East Jackson and found a 29-year-old woman who had been severely beaten. The woman told investigators that 36-year-old James Eric Barnett of Hugo had beaten her after accusing her of stealing money from his wallet. Barnett is charged with felony kidnapping and domestic assault and battery.
