A 73 year old Commerce man has pleaded not guilty to a Hunt County indictment charging him with sexually assaulting a child at least 13 times during a 4 year period. 73 year old Ernest Thomas Smith is accused of 1 count of continuous sexual abuse of a child, three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and nine counts of indecency by sexual contact. His next court appearance is set for September 26.
