Husband Set Fire To Wife’s New Car

Officers arrested Justin Kennedy Hillard, 36, of Mineola, for arson after he allegedly poured the contents of a gas can and set his wife’s car on fire. On August 16, Smith County fire crews responded to a report of a vehicle fire in the 8500 block of FM 14, according to an affidavit. When crews arrived, they found a man using a garden hose to spray water at a vehicle on fire. The woman who called the authorities told responders that her husband had set her car on fire after coming home drunk.
