A court sentenced an Idabel man to 17½ years in federal prison for attempted murder. At a plea hearing, 36-year-old Lawrence McKinney admitted that he drove to Broken Bow and shot at an unnamed person with a shotgun. McKinney must serve the entire sentence and will not become eligible for parole. The victim survived the shooting.
