Investigation Continues Into Berger Plant Fire In Hopkins County

Although there are no signs of foul play, the Hopkins County Fire Marshal, Sulphur Springs Fire Investigators and the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives will investigate to determine the cause of the fire that heavily damaged the Berger Horticultural Specialties plant on Hwy 19 north of Sulphur Springs. One firefighter suffered lacerations fighting the blaze and required stitches. The monetary loss to the plant was said to be “significant” but has not yet been determined. The investigation could take about a week.
