Investigation Underway In Overdose Death of 16-Year-Old Girl

Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office Press Release:

On July 17, 2024, the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office began a death investigation about an overdose of a 16-year-old female. We requested an autopsy and toxicology as part of the investigation. The toxicology report showed a newer synthetic drug found in her bloodstream called N-Pyrrolidino Protonitazene. This drug is 25 times more potent than fentanyl. During the investigation, we were able to determine the identity of the person who supplied the victim with the pills that ultimately took her life; at this time, we have identified three suspects, and the investigation is ongoing.
