Investigators believe that the fire that destroyed a home on FM 2648 in Powderly around 1:00 am Wednesday morning was deliberately set. Firefighters from eight volunteer departments battled the blaze but the home was ruled a total loss. Further investigation led to the arrest of the owners of the house. Everett David Waters and Kelly M. Waters have been charged with arson.
