IRS Phone Scam

Some around the area are receiving calls from the IRS. The IRS does not call you on the phone, they contact you by mail. The scam hit a Winnsboro resident yesterday and it came in on his cell phone. Winnsboro’s Police Department stated that was not their first complaint of the IRS wanting the victim to send money or be arrested. The phone number on caller ID showed 786-358-0447 by the scammer yesterday.
